I see a theme coming on… and I’m gonna take it and run with it, all the way to South Dakota if I have to. What’s in South Dakota you ask? Well, I bet it’s as far as a rainbow might reach, maybe further though. I hope you enjoy this escapade as much as I know I will!

These shorts are part of a two piece short track suit I am designing. The jacket isn’t finished yet, but I couldn’t resist sharing the shorts since I just completed them! The jacket I have on now was a vintage tunic that was wide and long– I restructured it so that the birds would be on the back (which used to be plain), and opened the front. I think it looks more Spanish bull fighter now, rather than the Mexican peasant maid that it used to be.

Three fine dresses on three fine ladies, if I don’t say so meself. I was pretty excited about my vintage find, and wore it even though I felt a little loud. I think I belong in West Side Story during the I Want To Be In America number, although it’s been a while since I’ve seen that and I might very well be making it up. Anyways, the back is open and pretty, but there were no pictures of it… Next time! Oh, and those plastic cups have apple juice in them.

This is an outfit I would never “plan out”– I started with the sweater, and then (against my better judgement) wanted to wear the blue top that my roommate gave me. In trying to make those two items work together, I pulled out this beautiful vintage silk skirt that I have never worn for lack of things to wear it with. I knew I was going bold, but when I put them all on together somehow I liked the resulting effect. Let’s call it a gestalt, actually, which is a fancy art term from German that kind of means a form that encompasses the whole idea or feeling. How’s that for vocabulary?? My point being that some idea/feeling/dream/world/inkling/embiance is expressed perfectly in this ensemble (to go French on you for a minute), even though I’m not sure what that idea is. But I do know that this describes it! Does that make any sense?

Whenever I go to visit this babe, I feel like I have to look my best and most interesting, because let’s face it, she is one of the most fashionable and interesting people I know. Certainly her apartment is an accessory in this outfit, too. Go get ‘em!

Happy birthday America! I love an excuse to dress a little ridiculous. And I will admit that although orange slices in water is delicious and hydrating, I assembled that purely for the visual. Now, where’s the ambrosia salad?

It’s raining out today, again, but I decided that donning the usual raingear, aka grey performance winter jacket outer shell, was not in the cards. Instead I put this beautiful scarf over my head and felt great about myself. I laugh in face of 60 percent chance of rain.
